Summary

Looking to gain Muscle Size and Strength, quickly? Look no further, the answer has arrived! Applied Nutrition's Critical Mass has been designed for people who find it hard to gain body mass, a hard gainer. Critical Mass provides a calorie dense formula comprising high levels of protein and carbohydrate in every serving. This is to ensure that your growing muscles get all of the vital nutrients they need to develop and recover.

Critical Mass contains 52 grams of the highest biological value proteins per serving. These will provide the building blocks for your muscle tissue. It also contains a precise ratio of complex and fast acting Carbohydrates. Consuming enough Carbohydrates is essential and will prevent you from losing muscle tissue. This makes Critical Mass ideal for any individual needing a high Carbohydrate meal during the day or after a tough training session.

One of the key complex carbohydrates within Critical Mass is the super-high molecular weight Waxy Maize Starch (WMS). WMS has the ability to replenish the body's glycogen stores much faster than conventional carbohydrate sources. This is accomplished by WMS's ability to bypass the stomach and go to the intestines for immediate absorption. WMS's ability to shuttle all these nutrients and starch into the body gives you an immediate "pump" you can physically feel in your muscles post workout. You will see a much larger, fuller and rounder muscle belly.

Critical Mass also contains a blend of Essential Fatty Acids, Medium Chain Triglycerides and CLA. This blend of “Super Fats” has been designed to give your body the tools that it needs to recover from intense physical exercise. Critical Mass should be used by:

• Individuals wanting a calorie dense body mass gain formula

• “Hard-gainers” that struggle to put on weight (People with a High metabolic rate)

• Strength athletes, bodybuilders & weight-lifters

• High energy athletes such as rugby players, boxers, wrestlers etc

• Anyone wanting to “bulk-up”, gain muscle weight, or improve all-round athletic performance

• Aerobic athletes wanting to build muscle or increase strength

So if you’re looking to gain muscle size and strength quickly, order your supply of Applied Nutrition's Critical Mass today!

I bought some of this a couple of months ago but didn't take it properly as the flavour I tried tasted vile and didn't mix well.(strawberry) I didn't see too much improvement on size but i decided to give it another go after reading more good reviews, I finished my strawberry off and now half way through a chocolate tub after about 3 weeks. Gained almost 7lb's which for me is a massive improvement, I will definitely be using this product again and would recommend to anyone who finds it hard to gain weight. Also I find smaller quantities of the mixture (2 scoops) along with milk seem to mix better and I just add an extra shake each day to compensate.

no results..

Cant comment on this product because I havnt tried it personally, however I have heard good things about it. But really i think you people should look else where, 88g of sugar per serving is ridiculous the impact on your health would be bad. What goes in your body now will effect your health 10 years from now, so get some good nutritional supplements like reflex, sold here on Tropicana Fitness. They use only the best natural ingredients with a low GI index, so they are great for consuming daily.

cheers

i have tried many over the years but this tastes good, and mixes well. my fav was usn mass, but for the price aswel this has to be a favourite, as u can also make it last longer by halving servings but having an extra shake, as your body wont absorb all the amount of nutrients per recommended serving. 2 scoops x 4 shakes instead of 4 scoops x 3 shakes. ill be buying this one next time anyway...

A great product - tastes, mixes and contains much better ingredients than the previous Mammoth 2500. I have seen a much larger muscle belly, and seem to no longer have that bloated affect from other protein and weight gainers. By far the best supplement I have ever brought. A++

Q & A

Q. is animal rennet used to produce the whey protein contained in this product?
A.

Not sure if they use the cow-sourced (rennet) or bacterial/chemical source of enzymes to produce the whey. You'd have to ask the manufacturer...

info@applied-nutrition.net

Q. im just a bit worried about the amount of sugar in this suplement but ive heard that the sugars are natural sugars
A.

When on a mass gainer and trying to gain mass, it is not important to worry too much about extra sugar. All sugars are natural in the sense that they are the same molecules whether they are manufactured or found naturally in foods like fruit. Don't worry too much about eating excess sugar until it comes time to start getting lean.

Q. I am concerned about the amount of sugar and saturated fat in this product. Im currently using a similar product (mammoth) which has 9gs of sat fat per serving and about the same amount of sugar. How is this going to affect my health How long is it safe to use these products If im having 3 of these shakes a day just to get to the weight i want, im surely taking in dangerous amounts of both sugar and fats, therefore damaging my health'
A.

You are correct that long-term intake of high levels of saturated fat and sugar can be bad for your health. However, this hasn't been well investigated in people who exercise regularily and this effect would likely be less significant in people who exercise. But there is no getting arround the fact that you have to eat lots of calories to gain muscle and this usually entails gaining some fat mass also. We advise getting your cholesterol tested regularily and if you have a family history of heart disease, ensure that you don't allow your body fat to get too high. Use common sense and ensure that you spend some part of the year getting lean.

Q. Im considering buying Applied Nutrition Critical Mass 4.4kg, and would like to know if its recomended you take the same amount on trainning days as you will be on non training days?
thank you for your time
A.

With weight gainer products, the main thing is that you find the correct dosage for you that causes you to meet your weekly weight-gain goals - say 1/2 to 1 kilo per week - keep upping the intake until you hit your goal. However, because weight gainers have a big dose of protein and carbs, they make a very effective post-workout drink (even more so when mixed with creatine). So the answer is that you could take more on training days if you use it as your post-workout drink. If you use a specific post-workout drink, then you are probably best using a consistent dosage of weight gainer every day.

Q. Thanks for your reply to my previous question 'is it suitable for vegetarians' the reason why i asked this is because the previous weight gainer they had made was called 'mammoth' and at first everyone had said it was suitable for vegetarians but later disagreed.. and another reason why i am not to sure about this product being suitable for vegetarians is because i have not come across the type of ingriedients that contains in this product so it would be really helpful if you could briefly go over each type of ingriedient in abit more information... sorry for the essay and thanks again for taking your time in reading my question.
A.

This product contains protein from milk and egg. carbohydrates from corn and inulin (from the chicory plant), fats from flax seed, coconut and soy, glutamine which is from an enzymatic process (not animal sourced), tricalcium phosphate is a mineral combination (not sure of source) and bromelain which is an enzyme usually from fruit.

Q. Is it suitable for vegetarians'
A.

All of the weight gainer products contain milk proteins. This one also contains egg proteins but there don't seem to be any other animal-sourced ingredients in this product.
