Tried lots of different protein powder..PHD, CNP, BSN, Myofusion, Reflex.. and will not go back to any of them after trying ONs product. Long lasting and great tasting (vanilla)

Best whey out there and the chocolate mint tastes like an aero milkshake
Very good
Ifty on 16th December 2011
Very good products. I really like the Vanilla Ice cream, and extreme milk choc flavour.
Banana tastes good until you get to the chemical after taste. I am not buying that again. Prefer the USN banana whey, eventhough it bloats me.
Good

This product has great nutritional values and a great reputation but the taste wasn't up to much and with so much competition on the market I wouldn't buy again.
Great but contain additives

I've tasted Choc Mint, French Vanilla and Rocky Road - for me Choc Mint wins. Tastes nice, easy to mix. What more do you need.
Flavor Change
Chris Harte on 28th November 2010
Used this for a while now and the results are brilliant, always had the Choc Mint and it tasted great, but they have now changed there suppliers and this flavour is now nasty. I will re-order this but not the mint choc flavour again as i almost gagged with the last lot, such a shame as it was by far the best flavour of any protein drink!
Spot ON!
Ol on 11th October 2010
This was recommended to me by my trainer, great tasting, all the protein you could ever need without the rubbish! been using about 18 months now. Highly recommend.
decent
James Groves on 9th June 2010
I've tried a fair few protein powders now, and i wouldn't have chosen this *again* unless i hadn't considered it to be the best problem
Overall, it has a good whey blend, (like many good powders), along with a decent amino acid complex, including 4 grams of glutamine and "precursers" - whatever that entails (even though i'm taking it with 5g of my own glutamine ...out of greed i suppose).
BUT, what get's to me is that this product is more than half the price in the states.. and 40£ in a month does sting.
After buying this my friend mentioned sci-mentor premium whey, which on paper is arguably marginally better than this product, and can be found for less than 25£. Since my friend let my try his, the drawbacks of the sci-mentor whey is that; it doesn't mix quite as well as ON (not something that personally phases me when using a shaker), it's not available on thesupplementstore (which is a shame because the delivery is always superb here.. less than 24 hours if you order before 1pm, and they even texted me an estimated delivery hour that morning.. very grateful), and ofcourse another drawback is i haven't tested sci-mentor for results...
The markup on brands bugs me.. so i would advise optimum nutrition... but for 40£.. i think you can go elsewhere.. which i will do once this is through
Both have good taste ofcourse, once you have tasted a variety of powders, and unflavoured protein, you know how well they cover that up lol.
peace!
Taste Horrible

i dont notice any different from since i was taking it, i brought a 2k tub and havent even got 3/4, makes me puke when finishing drinking and it tastes horrible (cookies n cream), now im using USN Whey. and ive seen notice and taste great like a milkshake.

I wanted a decent whey shake so I bought cookies and cream. When I first tasted it, I thought it was vile and revolting and the smell of the powder itself is sickening but after a few more shakes I began to enjoy the taste a lot more especially with milk. Good taste but don't expect Haagen Daaz

I used this product for years and loved the taste and results from it. After a year off training I bought a tub and can't drink the stuff! They've added sucralose and something else to make it foam a bit when you shake it and tastes absolutely awful now. Very unhappy, I have to find a new powder again :( Not happy, Optimum Nutrition!

DO NOT be put off by the cheaper price than other products, this is the dogs!!!. It seems to last for weeks, even when having two shakes a day.
The taste is as refreshing as a mcdonalds shake and its easily mixs in a shaker. Have been using for three months and have seen a steady increase in lean muscle.
Probably worth taking a creatine product alongside just to amplify the effects though.

As far as Im concerned, this is the best bodybuilding supplement on the market. I get the double rich chocolate flavour (chocolate) because there are no artificial sweeteners and tastes great!
I have half a scoop with my porridge in the morning and 30g after the gym - great lean muscle gains!

The best whey protein on this site, without a doubt. O.N. know their science when it comes to proteins. I have used this product for only a month and I have put on gain and increase in muscle size immediately, without exaggerating. Your probably reading this and thinking im exaggerating but honeslty im not. I have trained hard and prepared my diet immaculately with high carbs as well as protein. I have lost fat around my waist and abs as I am eating right and cut off any artificial foods and fast food.
A specialist company with results be disciplined, otherwise you will moan on how crap products are. Bodybuilding is a disciplined sport.

Q & A
- Q. Are there any side effects (now or later) which are bad for health beacause of the usage of this product? I started using gym for 2 months (i am a new guy in this field) is it necessary to use this product just now or do i need to use this product after a long period? Thank you ...... Danuka
- A.
It is just protein. Think about eating a piece of chicken. Same principle.
- Q. I am 17 years old and my height is 5' 9'' and my weight is 84kg (185 lbs) . I need to loose my weight. i go to the gym 5 times per a week, but still i didnt start cardiovascular excercises, but i hope to do. Is this product more suitable for me? When i start my cardiovascular excercises will my body fat burn with the help of this? Please help me!
- A.
Yes cardio is essential for decreasing body-fat but weight is just as, if not more important at burning calories. Add 2 HIIT (High intensity Interval training) sessions a week and the weight will soon start to shift BUT don’t over train. 3 weight training days 2 cardio days or even cardio after weights would be great. This product is perfect as you will be making sure that muscle tissue isn’t sacrificed during your diet.
- Q. Hi, I am overweight, I currently visit the gym and do cardio with some light weights, I want to lose weight and get fit. I have changed my diet to a balanced healthy one. I was recommended this product would be ideal for me to take as part of my training. Would you agree?
- A.
Most definitely, this product is a great way to help you supplement with first class quality protein. If you would like to speed up the rate of fat loss, we would highly recommend combining a fat burner like Grenade, Lipo-6 Black, Xedra-Cut with this product for maximum results.
- Q. How many full spoons fo 100% Gold Standard Whey should i use after a 1 hour and a half of weight lifting?
Thank you. - A.
This product comes with a scoop in the container and one scoop is 24g of protein. Take 1-2 scoops post training.
- Q. I weigh 5kgs and workout for about 1 hour and a half five times a week. How many times a day should i have this supplement?
- A.
We are going to assume your mean you way more than 5KG. Protein supplements can be taken as many times a day as needed but we recommend you have solid forms of protein throughout the day and consume up to 3 servings of a protein supplement.
- Q. Hi, due to working hours I can only visit the gym after work around 6.30pm, is it ok to take the shake straight after and then have my evening meal after? Also, does it contain any animal fat?
- A.
The small amount of fat in this product will come from the whey protein source which would be from milk fat which is derived from animals.
- Q. Hi, trying to work out how much of this stuff to take? Roughly in scoops would be helpful. Have been on cyclone for 2 months
but feel i need a bit more mass. Want to feed my muscle growth. Am 5,11 and around 75 kg and work out about an hour a day plus 30 minute run in the morning. cheers - A.
If it is mass you are looking for then a standard whey protein is not going to help very much. You will need more calories and carbs as well as protein to help promote mass gains. Also if you are training everyday then this to will also hinder results when it comes to muscle growth as rest is just as important as training. Cardio for 30minutes everyday is also too much cardio to promote muscle gains and you will need to consuming around 500-1000 extra calories a day more than you are burning. We would recommend you try Optimums mass gainer “Serious mass” for better results.
- Q. I am overweight by 4stones and I want to lose weight the correct way without having any excess skin, also would like to tone up my muscles [I dont want to be bulky] and aim for a healthier physique. Would this product help me reach my goals? How often/scoops should I take? Thanks
- A.
Losing weight is all about calorie control. If you eat less calories in a day than you are consuming then you will lose weight. This product is great to help fill the gaps and stop hunger cravings as well as preserve lean muscle tissue. Combine this product with a high calorie fat burner like Grenade, lipo 6 black or animal cuts and you’re on the right track.
- Q. how would this compare to Myofusion in terms of taking it between meals? Which would stay in your body for longer?
thanks - A.
They both consist of virtually the same ingredients, Whey protein concentrate with other forms of whey. The time they stay in your system would be around 1-3 hours before you would need another meal to keep metabolism ticking over. The difference between these two would be taste, and that is down to the individual.
- Q. I've been taking Nutrisport Protein+Carbs post-workout, with Nutrisport energy boost 4:1 pre workout, but I'm looking for a whey protein for during the day. I also take creatine, should I take creatine with this product or at different times?
- A.
The Protein + Carbs has a minimum dose of creatine but you're better off having an extra serving every other day taken seperately from the Protien + Carbs - perhaps before your biggest meal of the day.
- Q. hey i was just wondering what is the optimum amount of protein for a PWO shake , i mean could i have 1 scoop on ON GS whey and thats it with a banana ? how much is good , i am going to cut which would be good for me ?
- A.
Generally, you need at least 20 grams of high-quality protein to maximize protein synthesis but some studies indicate that more protein may be better (some studies have even gone up to 100g - but that's probably excessive).
Guys usually use between 20 and 40 grams. - Q. hi, im a pure veggie (no egg or fish) is this product feasible for veggies? and is the lecithin, from a egg or soya?
- A.
Just about sure (from looking at the label) that this is fine for veggies. The lecithin is from almost certainly from soy.
However, you may want to try to contact Optimum Nutrition to confirm this. - Q. Does this protein help loose weight?
- A.
Higher protein (lower carb) diets definitely help with weight loss and there is also research to show that whey protein is particularily good at increasing the feeling of fullness and so be even more effective than standard quality sources of protein.
- Q. Can this product be mixed with milk? Or it it just water?
- A.
This product can be mixed with water or milk - it won't affect the effectiveness of the product.
Just be aware once mixed with milk you are adding extra calories, carbs and fats but also extra protein to the mix. - Q. I have recently joined the gym and want to bulk up, although im quite largely built i carry quite alot of excess weight. so on joining the gym i have begun dieting i have been told this protein is good but just wanted to know if this will bulk me up aswell as help my diet lose my weight?
- A.
Many people e-mail us and want to gain muscle without gaining fat. This is possible when you just start out training or when you come back from time off the gym and possibly if you have fantastic genetics. BUT outside of the above scenarios, it is difficult to gain muscle without gaining some fat!
so you have to decide whether you want to burn fat or gain muscle and then eat and supplement accordingly.
Gold Standard whey is a high quality protein and is ideal for dieting and muscle maintenance. - Q. Is there any animal derived ingredients with the exception of fish
- A.
The only animal ingredients in this product are from milk protein (whey).
- Q. does product contain chicken or meat
- A.
No
- Q. what is the direction of taking this suppliment
- A.
You can take as many servings as you like really. Most people take 2 or 3 servings per day and many people use 2 scoops. Basically, if you train hard and often, are a large person and/or if you don't get a lot of quality protein at meals or don't eat 6 or more meals and snacks per day, then you should probably be taking more protein.
sorry for the delayed response due to essential maintenance. - Q. i want to get more definition would this benefit me.and if so when should i use is it after workout and bedtime?
- A.
Yes, increasing protein and cutting carbs is the most effective way to lose fat (and not muscle). Take it after training, first thing in the morning just before breakfast and just before bed. And/or other times when you go too long without protein or with meals that are low in high-qualtiy protein.
- Q. ive beeen weight lifting for a year and half now and am ready to bulk up and start using supplements. would this be a good protein to use. if so when should i use it and how much. thanks kev, 20.
- A.
For pure gains in muscle and strength, Nitro-Tech is probably the most effective (but also the most exepensive), Other excellent proteins are PhD Pharma Whey, Whey Protein Hardcore, USN Whey Protein and Whey Maxx.
If you aren't eating a high-calorie, high-protein diet including 5 or 6 meals per day, you will get better mass-building results from taking a weight gainer like Mutant Mass (along with powdered creatine) or Mass-Tech or Muscle Fuel Anabolic (which already contain creatine) - start off with 2 to 3 scoops twice daily and increase until you are gaining the desired amount of weight per week (1/2 to 2 kilos). - Q. Can i mix this with BSN cellmass creatine ? because it would be easier to mix them both together then for me to take two different supplement shakes ??
- A.
Yes there is no problem mixing creatine into your protein shake. The only consideration is how they might taste together. For maximum retention of creatine in the muscle, ensure to take carbohydrates along with or just after your protein shake.
