Progen combines low glycemic index organic oats and barley as its primary carbohydrate source. Low GI sources of carbohydrates are broken down slowly, providing energy over a longer period of time, allowing for a more balanced release of energy than simple carbohydrate sources such as maltodextrin. Additionally oats and barley are rich in other nutrients such as fibre and naturally occurring vitamins and minerals.
 
To further complete the formula, Progen contains a complete blend of vitamins and minerals to aid overall health.
